Who is this for?
Enrollment for the Summer Violin Workshop Series is for students who have completed 8th grade orchestra or higher and want to improve. For private students, it is for those who have been playing 3+ years, or with a recommendation from your teacher.
You need to be at an intermediate level (compare Suzuki books 2-4) and be very interested in improving your violin performance skills.
The sessions build on each other, but can also be taken as stand alone classes.

Cost and enrollment limit:
*PLEASE register by June 12th! Late sign up is available until the day before each class begins. Price changes on June 16th to $30 per session. Multiple class discounts only apply if purchase on or before midnight on June 12th.

There is a limit of 12 students per class. If there is a higher demand for it, another session will be added at a different time on the same day.

Session Details:
Vibrato Magic: Master the Art - In this class you will learn a fast track approach to learning vibrato that will give you control and confidence in your playing.This is now combined withthe Expression class.

Ornamentation: The Fun Parts; Grace Notes, Tremolo, Trills and More! - Your audience really enjoys pieces that include these fun surprises and they are so fun to PLAY! We will learn what each of these elements look like in your music and using a few techniques, you will learn how easy and fun they are to play. We will also learn glissando, tilde, staccato vs spiccato, and col legno.

Expression: Let Your Music Tell a Story - This is where it gets exciting! Learn how and when to use dynamics, bow speed, facial expression, breath, vibrato, movement and more to make your performance come alive and keep your audience engaged.

Putting it All Together: How to Get Performance Ready - In this final session, you will learn how to make the most effective use of your practice time so you can learn your performance piece faster than you thought.
We will take your piece (bring one you are working on, or we will have a few there for you to choose from) and bring it to life. You will learn to fall in love with the most difficult parts of your piece and you will leave smiling knowing you can do it!
